Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley opened a new facility to treat mental health issues recently in Boardman. From The Business Journal:
A $2.3 million renovation of the former Youngstown Hearing and Speech building on Southern Boulevard, expected to be open to patients Dec. 10. Among the features of the addition are a “decompression zone,” nine individual therapy rooms, an assessment room, group therapy rooms and staff offices. It also has ligature mitigated hardware to prevent self-harm and emergency buttons in each room.
Tim Crowe, president of Crowe’s Cabinet’s, said of the project, “Akron Children’s Hospital has been doing such great things for this area since they have come into the Mahoning Valley. We are proud to have been a small part of their growth in this region with many new health care sites, renovations, and expansion projects over the years.
